About Me

My name is Husni, better known as The Habesha Barista. I'm an Ethiopian coffee educator and content creator based in Dallas, Texas, with one mission: to tell the story of Ethiopian coffee the way it deserves to be told.

Like many Ethiopians, I didn't grow up thinking of coffee as just a drink. It was a daily tradition that brought people together. I grew up around the aroma of coffee roasting, the sound of beans being ground, the slow brewing of the jebena, and conversations shared over Abol, Tona, and Baraka. Coffee wasn't rushed. It was an experience.

As I entered the specialty coffee world, I realized something was missing. People knew Ethiopian coffee for its incredible flavors and origins like Yirgacheffe, Sidama, Guji, and Harrar, but very few knew the culture, history, and traditions behind it. That's why I started creating content: to bridge the gap between specialty coffee and the culture that gave coffee to the world.

What I Do

I create educational and engaging content across TikTok and Instagram focused on Ethiopian coffee culture, brewing techniques, specialty coffee, and the stories behind every cup. My goal is to make coffee approachable while helping people appreciate the traditions that have been passed down for generations.

Beyond creating content, I host immersive coffee experiences, collaborate with specialty coffee brands, and continue to explore new ways to connect people with the birthplace of coffee.
